Expecting Parents

Congratulations! You have a lot on you mind as you prepare for the arrival of your new bundle of joy. Prior to the birth of your baby, you should find a pediatrician who will care for your child from infancy to early adulthood. You may ask your obstetrician for their recommendations. We hope you will consider making an appointment to interview us to be your child's doctor.

If you have any questions about our clinic practice or philosophy, you should take the time during this interview to pose them. Make a list of possible questions and bring them with you to the interview. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Have you thought about how you are going to feed your baby? You can get our doctors' perspective on breastfeeding versus formula feeding. You can ask about our doctor's education or qualifications. You can also find out if our doctors can see your baby at the hospital where you are delivering. Don’t hesitate to have a conversation with us. We want to make sure you are comfortable with the healthcare provider you choose.

You may want to discuss vaccinations with us and get our perspective on immunizations. Did you know that pertussis is on the rise in the U.S.? As future parents, you need to make sure that you are vaccinated against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. You may also want to consider getting the flu vaccine especially during the winter months. You will be asked at the hospital if your child can get a hepatitis B vaccine. Getting our feedback prior to your child’s birth will help make your transition into parenthood a little less stressful.

If you decide that one of the doctors at Bossier Pediatric Partners can serve as your child's pediatrician, inform the hospital staff at the time of delivery and we’ll start the relationship by caring for your baby in the hospital after the birth.
